HIGHLAND GRIFFITH CHAMBER ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS, EVENT DATES

The Highland Griffith Chamber of Commerce has started the year with new leadership on its Board of Directors and is quickly moving forward on planning its 2023 events.

The Chamber welcomed new Board members Rebecca Alvarez of Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center, Dan Perez from Edward Jones, Nakia Sprouse from Integrated Body and Medicine, Leah Dumezich from the School Town of Griffith, and Brian Smith from the School Town of Highland. They will join current Board members Ann Coglianese of Region ATA, Gina Ribota of Edward Jones, Debi Gifford of Centier Bank, Debby Dukes of Regional Federal Credit Union, Jane Powers-Schiesser of Humane Indiana, Amy Conn-Kile of Crestview Apartments, and Susan Stammis of First Financial Bank.

The new year also brought changes in the Board’s officers, as Ann Coglianese assumed the office of President, succeeding Gina Ribota who will remain on the Board as Past President. The other Executive Board officers for 2023 include Dan Perez as Vice President, Susan Stammis as Secretary, and Debi Gifford as Treasurer. Lance Ryskamp also begins his first full year as Executive Director, after taking over the position last July.

“We are starting the year with a strong leadership team, ”Ryskamp said. “It is a great mix of new and incumbent Board members.” 

“Having the School Superintendents from both Griffith and Highland on our Board means a great deal,” Coglianese said. “It sends a strong signal to the communities and our members of the partnership between the two towns.”

The Chamber has already announced the dates for two of its annual events. Tickets are now on sale for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, which will be held on March 25th at the Highland High School cafeteria. Tickets are $5 for the event, which will feature both an 8:30 am and 10:00 am sitting. The Chamber’s annual Golf Outing will once again be held at Wicker Park on Thursday, July 13th. In addition, plans are underway for the Tour de HighlandGriffith bike event in June, as well as new “After Hours” events and a “Lunch and Learn” series that will debut in the coming months.
